Captain Beatty

Beatty believes that its better to keep people ignorant and happy. Captain Beatty is a person who does not like conflicts and when they do come up he ust agrees with what ever they are unhappy about. He does keep his rules straigt, that the books should be burn and that the past does not mean anything. In page 59 Catain Beatty is talking to Montag and he says "colored people don't like little Black Sambo. Burn it. White people don't feel good about Uncle Tom's Cabin. Burn it. ......". These words tell me that he just wants to keep the people happy without caring if they are right or wrong. He wants the people to be ignorant meaning that they don't know the truth, he thinks that he does this they will be happy.
