1. According to the NAACP, why should Imus be silenced?
According to NAACP Imus should be silenced because they think that the statement he made really made fun of and spoke wrong about the African American women in the basketball team. The problem was that he wasn’t playing at all, what he said was because he really meant it. They want to take away all those offensive words out of our media. They have even talked to record players and convince them to stop the way they compose their music.
2. According to Frank Rich, why should Imus not be silenced?
According to Frank Rich Imus should not e silenced because he has the freedom of speech and because other people make fun jokes. For example there is a comedian named George lopez. He makes rude jokes about the Mexican and the people all laugh at them because he says the truth. Besides he himself is a Mexican. He says that if people loke him can say the truth why can’t Imus say it too?
